1994 Nissan Sentra passenger side manual door lock

Cannot open the door. It will not unlatch either by using the handle or pushing & pulling on the rods inside door. A locksmith told me I would have to tear the door apart. Could there be any tricks to use to open it before I start tearing it up?

Hi Bigkurt,

Most probably the lock actuating tab is stuck or the lever is worn.

Spray some rust remover at the lock assy and try to move all of the tiny tabs at the lock and try to unlock before attempting to open.

If it works, replace the lock even if it may work for now.
