1993 Nissan Sentra only in first gear

I just got a tune up on my trans, but it only stays in first gear. They say its a part that wears down from time 2 time. Do you know what in talking about? Please if you know could u please tell me the parts name or whta is rong with it. Thank you

Is your speedometer acting up? The part that they're talking about is the throttle valve cable could be out of adjustment. My advise to you is have the throttle position and vehicle speed sensor checked.

No the speedometer is not acting up. One day I was driving and I pulled up at a lite and when I pulled of it only stayed in first gear. So do u think its the throttle cable slider out of place?

Hard to say, get it check and have it adjusted and see what happens and the sensors.
