had the car checked, the guy said the ck engine light is on because it has an exhaust leak, where and how is that fixed?

I wish I can tell you. But the easiest way to check it is to put the car on jack stands, start the motor and go under the vehicle and see where the puffing noise is coming from, starting from your exhaust manifold all the way through the tail pipe.
