Wipers stop working suddenly for five to forty five minutes.
Will just start back up at random (or as I drive into the repair shop lot).
What do I replace first in order to find the problem?

Start with inspecting wiring to ensure there is no short, check wiring at the fuse box, wiper switch and wiper motor. If wiring is okay than check wiper relay.

Four wheel drive automatic 160,000 miles

I went to start my truck yesterday morning and there was no power. We replaced the battery last night, let it run and all and then this morning it was drained again. We boosted it and so far it has been fine. The mechanic said the alternator appears fine and so does the battery. However we think something might be draining the battery at night. The only thing I can think is the seat heaters were on, and the rear wiper is not working and has been stuck half way. I also noticed recently if I jump out of the car and leave the lights on the little reminder noise does not work. Any ideas?

Definitely sounds like a drain on battery. Do the seat heaters work when vehicle is off? Check every single interior light, I usually find one on when a car comes in with a draw, make sure nothing is plugged into cigar lighter socket, make sure visor mirrors turn off and rear view mirror lights. Also, check the glove box light and center console light if equipped. Hope this helps.

Six cylinder four wheel drive automatic 190,000 miles

I am having electrical problems with my vehicle. I just had a new starter put on about a month ago and since then my drivers side window has not been able to go down and also just recently started to have problems where my wipers would not turn on unless they were in the highest setting. Then one day the wipers came on all by themselves and I had to restart the car to fix the problem. These were all minor problems until just recently my headlights quit working and I only have one side marker light. I have no high beams or headlights and only one side marker light. I believe whatever the problem is is causing a short because it has worn my battery down and now I must disconnect the battery when I park it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I can provide any specifics of the problem or what I have done to try and find the problem.
