I have a 98 Nissan Pathfinder, that had a dead battery around new year's, I took the battery in to local autozone where they told me that the cell was good and charged it for me, it worked fine for a month and was dead again. On both occasions it was extremely cold around 10 degrees, having had the car 10 yrs, I figured it was time for a new battery anyway so I got one and it has worked fine since, but I noticed when I turned my lights off there was a dull glow behind my instrument panel which I've turned off with my dimmer switch. Next I began noticing a clicking sound when I press my brake pedal that seems to be coming from under my gear shift center console area which corresponds to the light in my instrument panel and also lights my radio clock up. Today I noticed when my left turn signal is on the clock on the stereo flashes with the signal. When I first asked around I was told it could be a relay switch or a short somewhere in the electrical system, I just want to have an idea of what's going on before I take it to the shop. Thanks

Hi brownem1,

Thank you for the donation.

Symptoms indicates a possible failing alternator. Get the charging rate tested to confirm that the alternator is good.
