1995 Nissan Pathfinder Air conditioning freezing over

My AC keeps freezing over even when the AC is turned off. The exchanger in the dash turns into a block of ice preventing air flow. I have checked AC levels and they appear to be good. Why would the AC cotinue to operate while the AC button on the dash is turned off?

Hi Rodney595,

Is your system Automatic climate control or manual control?

Problem coudl be due to a stuck AC relay. Try swapping the relay and retest.

Other possible causes could be the thermistor.
