My Nissan Quest's turning signal sometimes stops blinking or sometimes blinks two or three times then stops although the turning handle(stick) has not returned to the original position and the car has not started turning. The emergency signal blinks normally. Is this a problem of the blinker or the mechanical part of the turning handle(stick)?

I had the same problem with my '95 Quest GXE. What it turned out to be was the switch for the hazzard lights (emergency signals). Apparently all power for the signals runs through that switch. To test to see if that's your problem, turn your turn signal on and then, with the tip of your finger, just pull on the outside edge of the hazzard switch. If your turn signal starts working, that's your problem too. They run about $95 to replace unless you can find a used one at a junk yard or on ebay. Good luck.
