1987 Other Nissan Models speedometer stop working

Ok my car is a 200sx 2.0liter standard. And my speedometer stop working on me last night and my rpm guage was working on and off an my mileage counter also stoped working when the speedometer stoped working. Any suggestions? And where can I look to find the problem on the car. I heard it may be a speed sensor but have no clue where it is located. Thanx a billion

I thought I've responded on this -okay is this with a digital cluster or w/o-

Digital the VSS its on the right shock tower below vacuum pump

Ok I looked at the speedometer cable and it seems to be fully intact. But now whats weird is that my rpm guage is working fine but my speedometer isnt at all still. And I noticed that when im driving I can hear the speedometer cable spinning or rotating inside the instrumental cluster yet no speed registers.
And the odometer still isnt moving. So my assumption is that the speedometer itself is busted, am I right to assume this?
Any help is appreciated

Open it up and investigate that's the only way to tell what needs fixing-
