Late model Maximas including yours do not use timing belt. It has a timing chain instead, here is how to replace the timing chain with instructions in the diagrams below.

For reference, thus if you looked at current new cars most of them now recommend replacement timing chain replacement of around 100-120,000 miles. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
