2002 Nissan Maxima engine light is on

The check engine light come on.I change my o2 senser and then I disconnect the battary to wipe out the code. Conect the battary and started the car. The check engine light come on. Don't know why the check engine light come on. How do you reboot the computer so the lght don't come on

Removing battery will reset the computer if you do it for about 10 minutes but remember that somethign caused the code and if you dont fix it it will come right back on.

Go to a autozone and have the code scanned and post back what code it was in p**** format

I when to Auto Zone the code was PO158 bank 2 sensor 2.I have four sensor in my 02 Maxima. The California type Two sennsor in bank one. Two sensor in bank two.I change the Red sensor which is bank 2 sensor 2. Then I disconnect the battery for 10 min.I reconnect the battery and staeted the car. The check enging light come right back on. Someone told me you have to drive 40 miles and the light will go off. Is this ture.

May have to unless you want to take it back to the shop and try to reset it with a scan tool. It will reset if the problem is fixed after about 40 miles to 70
