So after getting my sparke plug changed the engine light came on. Then I went to advance auto to get it checked why the light was on. And it said code 11 and 21. I was wondering if the reason why it come on was the sparke plug or there is something else is wrong with. And is it a big problem that I need to get it fixed as soon as possible?

Hi 02 maxima,

P0011 and P0021 are related to the Intake Valve Timing (IVT) Bank 1 and 2 respectively.

Malfunction is detected when there is a gap between angle of target and phase control angle degree. Possible causes are:

"� IVT control solenoid valve circuit open or shorted.
"� Defective IVT control solenoid valve.
"� Defective Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor (POS).
"� Defective Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (PHASE).
"� Debris accumulated on signal pick-up portion of camshaft.

They are not directly related to the spark plugs replacement and it is best to get them checked and rectified as it would affect the performance and fuel consumption.

During replacement of the spark plugs, some wireharness could have been unplugged and not reconnected securely. Recheck all wire harness connectors around the cylinderheads.
