There are two warning lights in my car that are on. The batter light, and the brake light. When I rev my engine to about 3,000 rpm the lights go off, if the rpms fall below 3k they go back on. I replaced the alternator and nothing changed. My meter is showing 12.4 on the battery with the car off and 11.6 with the car running. Could there be a wireing issue somewhere? Any suggestions of where I should go from here? I don't see how the two lights are connected.

What kind of alternator did you put on the car? Do you have power going to the alternator?

I bought a used alternator from a Maxima in the junk yard. Power to alternator? I though the alt supplied the power? This job is way out of my league but it must be something stupid that I'm missing. Have you encountered this before?

I would say the alternator bad. I would never gtrust a used alternator. There is voltage supplied to the alternator so that it will work. You have to make sure there is power going to it. The big red cable is one of them and then there should be either one or two more(pretty sure on this model).
