So, I have this var listed above and I do love it even its old. Runs solid and serves my needs ATM. I bought it a year ago and been working perfectly (as far as I know). The A/C was blowing ice cold most of the time and when it went hot sometimes all I had to do is just turn it off and back on again or maybe few times and it kicks back in. 2 weeks ago it wont blow cold at all so I checked and I found out that the driver side fan wont turn so I changed both of them. Then I noticed that the ac clutch wont engage so I recharged it and it worked for like 5 minutes blew cold air and that was the last time it worked since. I changed the A/C relay and the low speed relay also I changed the coolant temperature switch and checked all the fuses in and out and nothing. I hooked it up to a computer diagnostic tool and no error codes. Now when I jump the A/C relay it engages and when I do the same to the low speed relay the fans spin. Also when I jumped the A/C pressure switch the fans did spin and when I hot wired the compressor it looks like its spinning but still not cooling. The mechanic said that the coolant level is good ( I never saw it myself ) and the A/C should kick in at least. I just want to know what else to check or if I can make lie a manual control switch to turn it on from inside the car.
Thanks

Hi,

Everything you described sounds like it is low on Freon. Since it worked at first when recharged, you may just have a leak.

To get started so I know which direction to go, I need to know both the high and low side pressure. You will need to get an AC manifold gauge kit to get both.

Do this and let me know. Also, here is a link that explains the most common causes of AC issues.

Let me know.
