1997 Nissan Maxima I don't want to be stranded

Periodically my brake and battery light come on for a little while at random moments, now I notice the headlights dimming at night and on the dash I even saw my gas light come on with 3/4 of a tank. My mechanic says he can't get the lights of come and he does not think its the alternator. What else could it be or is it really the alternator.

Get the battery and alternator load tested then comeback with the results we start here-

Thank you for your response. Apparently, is was the alternator. It was finally fixed by the shop.
