is there any way to service your own air bag, if not, can I disabled the air bag?

Hi there, the short answer to both of these questions is no.... if you have a problem with the air bag, it must be checked & repaired by a qualified tech, these are dangerous systems, do not touch it your self as even excess static can cause deployment and serious injury if miss handled.
