93 Altima cruise control stopped working

1993 nissan altima GXE, about 280,000km, 2.4L. Greatest car i've ever owned, very few problems and regularly maintained. Only a few small quirks showing up nowadays, in particular: the cruise control stopped working several months ago. It worked sporadically for a while, then just quit altogether. Any suggestions?

I had one in the other day that had the cable at the throttlebody not wanting to stay connected, take a look and see if the cable is connected.
