Engine Cooling problem 2002 Nissan Altima 6 cyl Automatic I recently had a problem with my car blowing off steam. I had one of my male friends take a look at it and he was able to discover a leak coming from one end of the radiators seal. Now my question is, do i have to get a brand new radiator or does the seal just need to get fixed? What prize emI looking at to fix the problem? I wnt to have an idea before taking it to a mechanic, Iam a female and we are known to be taken advantage off by the male dominated field. Thnnk u for all ur help i really appreciate it.

Hi there,

Best you take tis straight to a radiator shop, they will be best suited to advise you, they will not know if it is just a simple seal, although the radiator will have to be removed to do tis, when the tank is removed it may show cracking of the top core anchor plate and if this is so the radiator will have to be replaced, this is just one of those jobs that you don't know the exact cause until it is fully dismantled and inspected.
