Hi,
My name is Celeste. I drive a 2001 Nissan Altima GLE. Six days ago, I was stopped at a traffic light, and just as the light turned green and the vehicle in front of me moved forward, I was hit from behind. I was just in the process of moving my foot to the excellerator, so the hit sent my car straight through the intersection fairly easily. For a spilt second I saw stars and thought I had done something wrong. I waived the girl who hit me into a parking lot past the intersection. She was driving a 2009 Hybrid Toyota Camry. To my surprise, there was not any visible damage on her car that I could see. I was extremely fortunate that there appears to be no damage on the back of my car either. The only thing on the back of my car is a small, fingernail sized indent(not even a chip) into the paint. This is something I am certainly not concerned with.
The girl who hit me was obviously shaken and upset and said that she hd panicked while at the light and jammed the gas peddle due to the fact that she saw a truck coming up behind her and she thought she was going to get hit herself. While sitting at the light while it was red, I had not noticed if she was behind me or not, so it is hard for me to tell how hard I was hit. I did notice the truck fly by me like a bat out of hell. It felt like a good hard smack as my head popped into the headrest pretty hard, certainly enough to stun me, but here again, I was very fortunate, as I had been driving serveral hours through blinding rain before getting off the interstate. I had my seat back positioned at a 90 degree angle or close to it as precaution of avoiding serious injury in the event that I had been hit on I10 in blinding rain.
It has been suggested to me to get my car checked out at the dealership for any possible damage under the bumper. It seems to be driving fine. I dont want to make an unnessary claim on this girl's insurance, as it was an accident, but my car is certainly worth more to me than anyone else(insurance companies, the "$#*^^*&#@%%^**")
I have included a few photos to show how nothing appears to be wrong. Neither vehicle had airbags go off either.
Sorry for this to be so lengthy and descriptive, but I wanted give give you as much detail as possible to assist with an answer.
Is there any cause for concern that there may be something wrong with my car due to this accident?
Should I take it in and have it looked at?
Thank You for your time and attention to this matter.
Celeste

It should be reported. From the stand point of you start getting back pain in a week from the repercussion, it will be documented. Or from the standpoint that there is damage not seen now.
