Yesterday my car mechanic filled the water in Radiator and coolant. Today when I took the car to a some 30 miles drive, suddenly thermo stat started to show very very high temparature and engine fan continue to run even after engine turned off. I faced this problem for first time, I bought this car 6 months before and never filled water in the radiator.

Kindly help me what could be the problem. I'm very much worried now that my car engine may get catch fire.

Tell your mechanic to bleed the cooling system-who knows it was low and he pretend that he put some in though the level is real low, so that you freak out on the temperature gauge and bring it back to him and him telling you a water pump problem-so that he can make more money out of you-There's a lot of crooked parts changer/broken mechanics out there. So watch out

Could be a the thermostat problem
