When I turn on the AC there is an awful squealing noise that starts but ends after a minute. Starts again when I accelerate from a stop or go faster. Its not the belt so is it the bearings and can it be replaced without replacing the whole compressor?

Hi there,

Bearings do not make this type of noise normally, are you sure about the belt, it sounds very much like a belt problem to me.
