I have a 1998 Nissan Altima. Recently it began to make a "whining" noise when i turn it on and when i drive it. The faster i rev the engine the higher the pitch of course. It seems to come from the area near the serpintine belt, the area on the passenger side where the alternater and things are. Any ideas?

Hi there,

i would start with checking the condition of the serpentine belt and the pulley bearings, you may have a bearing starting to fail.
