1998 Nissan Altima rear end bangs

1998 NISSAN ALTIMA
136,000 MILES • 4 CYL • FWD • AUTOMATIC

When I make a right trun or go up over a curb (into a driveway) there is a loud bang in the rear end. It sounds like a bowling ball or something shifting in the trunk (trunk empoty). I have visually checkd for support rods etc. loose but found nothing. Any suggestions?
