1987 Nissan 300ZX Engine analyzer hook up

How do you hook up an analyzer to a VG30 engine with solid state coil. There are two wires coming out of the coil but they run into a connector which runs into a bundle and goes? So wHow do I locate a negative ground from the coil to hoop up the analyzer?

Disconnect the coil connector and turn the ignition on, and check for power -the one with power is the positive side of the coil, the other is the negative side of the coil this is where you check for tach signal/switching of the primary circuit-
