1989 Nissan 240SX temp sensor

The temp sensor works every once and a while do I need a new one or is there a way to fix it?

It would be a bad ground. Check to make sure that the temperature sending unit (located near the thermostat) is plug correctly (like its not falling off or broken) Hope this helps
