I got a ka24e enine on my 240, I first started hearing the knock a few months back. Then it started getting louder, and lounder until I just decided to not drive it anymore.I'm guessing it's something serious. But my dad keeps telling me that it might just be a loose piston rod, or something.I just want to know if this is possible. Or alse I can just try to get a new engine. Thanks.

It could be a piston rod, in which you want to check compression, and also if it was a piston rod then a knock is the least of your worries. I dont know if it is cheaper to fix or do an engine swap. They're generally around the same price.
