Replaced 4l60e transmission and went to start truck and it want start. The shift indicator will only show that it’s in reverse. Replaced the safety switch and still won’t start. How can I check the neutral safety switch?

Hi,

Checking the PNP switch requires a scan tool. I attached the diagnostics below. However, before you jump into that, I would recommend scanning the computer to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes. If the sensor is faulty, it should set a code.

Also, check to see if the linkage is moving properly at the transmission. The idea that it isn't changing from reverse may be an indicator.

The last pic below explains how the PNP is adjusted. Take a look through it and see if anything helps.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks Joe. I’m looking to get a better scan tool. Maybe a xtool d7 and I’ll let you know what we find out.
