Engine cranking over but will not start. Was driving fine an hour ago, then got back into the car and will not start. No codes or check engine light on. Can someone please help in pointing me in some ways to troubleshoot what my problem may be. Thank you

Hi,

In most cases, either fuel is lost or ignition spark to the spark plugs. Oftentimes, a crankshaft position sensor will fail causing a loss of spark.

Here is what I want you to do. We need to determine what is lost. So, see if the engine starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it starts and then stalls, it is a fuel-related issue. If there is no change, then it is likely ignition related. If there is no change, follow this link for testing for spark:

Try this and let me know the results.

Take care,

Joe
