New to this area of the transmission. I’m at the flywheel on the transmission. Originally my car was losing transmission. To the point I had to top of the fluids much frequently. Also, couldn’t get into fourth gear but everything else was fine. I bought the fourth gear replacement along with bearing and gear hub. Just never changed out the gears before.

Replacing gears in a transmission is a complex task that requires specialized knowledge and tools. It's important to have experience or seek professional assistance when working on transmission components. If you're new to this area and unsure about the process, I recommend consulting with a qualified mechanic or a transmission specialist who can guide you through the process or perform the repair for you.

Here are a few general guidelines to keep in mind when working on transmission gears:

Proper diagnosis: Before replacing any gears, it's important to accurately diagnose the issue with your transmission. If you were experiencing difficulties shifting into fourth gear and noticing fluid loss, there may be other underlying problems within the transmission. It's recommended to perform a thorough inspection or seek professional help to identify the root cause of the issues.

Transmission disassembly: The process of replacing gears typically involves disassembling the transmission. This requires removing the transmission from the vehicle, separating the transmission case, and accessing the gearset. It may also involve removing other transmission components, such as the clutch assembly or torque converter, depending on the design of your transmission.

Gear replacement: Once you have access to the gears, you can remove the damaged gear and replace it with the new one. It's crucial to follow manufacturer guidelines and specific procedures for gear removal and installation. This often involves properly aligning and engaging the gears, ensuring proper clearances, and torquing the fasteners to the specified values.

Reassembly and testing: After the gear replacement, the transmission needs to be reassembled carefully, ensuring all components are properly aligned and secured. Once reassembled, it's important to perform thorough testing, including checking for proper gear engagement, shifting smoothness, and verifying fluid levels.

Well, only talk to a few people, but I'm not able to find a transmission mechanic. I have the transmission housing off and replaced the slave cylinder. Just about to remove the flywheel to see if it needs to be turned.
