Hi
I've never used one of these sites so I would appreciate your help.
I purchased my Chevy Malibu in February of this year, however about 3 weeks ago my check engine light turned on. At first it turned off after a few miles so I canceled my appt at the dealer, but then a few days later it turned on again. I have onstar with my vehicle and they did a diagnostic check and said the code was p0013. I was hoping you could tell me what that is and an estimate on repairs. It concerns me that this is coming up seeing as I haven't put much miles on the car. I don't know if this is a "common" problem but any advice is appreciated

From what I can tell it will be the Camshaft actuator circuit Bank 1. Its just those little solenoids to the left of the #1 spark plug on top of the valve cover (one is for intake and the other is for exhaust). Here is a video on how to change them. I would replace both if were me to cause if one has failed then the other is not far behind. Mostly they fail because the screens on the solenoids get a bit of varnish on them and get a little restricted from oil flow. About 90% of the cost of this fix is in the parts.
