I found some other problems since I emailed you this am. I have an evap code P0440, p0441, and p0446 showing. Also, code p1354 showed up. Then new codes p0302, p0304, and p0306. I think these codes are cylinders misfiring. Are these in the front of the engine, I hope? Would the misfiring's be caused by the problems in the evap system? Is it odd that the whole bank be misfiring? What should I take on first?
Thanks,
Ron

I started to notice kind of a low rumble sound at red lights, and it seemed like it was running rough at idle. I got home I went to the back and listened to the exhaust, and it sounded very erratic. I think that's where to low rumble sound is coming from. More importantly, out on the highway, it seemed to be the transmission was slipping, that was what I thought anyway. That was when I got the codes checked and all these misfire codes popped up. I knew about the EVAP codes, and was going to start with the purge valve for the 0441 code. Then I thought it was unusual for all of Bank 2 to misfire, so I was going to replace the VVT solenoid for bank 2. Should I just replace both front and back solenoids while I'm at it? I think that's the 1354 code? Then there's the 302,304, and 306 codes. If I replace the solenoids would that correct the misfires on the cylinders? So many things to fix. What should I do first?
Thanks,
Ron

The very first thing you’re going to want to do is check timing and compression to rule out if it’s a timing or compression issue which is the most important. Let’s start there. Let me know the results. From your excellent description it definitely sounds like the vehicle is misfiring either from a compression timing or spark or fuel issue.
