Once I came to start my car, the starter spun first time but couldn't start the car, the I return back the key and try again, at this second time I heard the starter. Sounds like it is stuck and couldn't spin. When I turn the key, I just hear (tic tic tic tic).

Hi:

When you get a clicking as you described, usually the battery is too weak to turn the starter. With that, I would first, confirm the battery terminals are clean and tight. If they are, here is a link that shows in general how to do a basic load test on the battery:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-battery-load-test

If the test isn't helpful, either see if you can jump start the vehicle or remove the battery and have it load tested at a parts store. Most do it for free.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Hi:

It sounds loud, but I don't know if that is how it always sounds. I also noticed that the RPM's are going up about 200 which is normal. So, the starter is turning the engine. Does the sound I hear in the video is what you are referring to as a ticking? Also, was there anything other that happened?

I need you to do me a favor. Have a helper crank the starter and I need you to record it from the front of the vehicle. I.M wondering if you broke a timing belt and I'm hearing internal interference.

I hate to ask for another video, but I need a clearer audio. Also, let me know if that is the ticking sound you are referring to. If it isn't, does the starter sound totally different?

Here is my biggest concern. If the timing belt has broken, then we are hearing noise between pistons and valves hitting. The 1.3L engine is an interference engine which means there isn't enough clearance between the two components if timing is off. When that happens, most times it is cheaper to find a good used engine.

If you can, and I don't have the technical info on this vehicle, remove the timing belt cover and see if it is broken, loose, or evidence of it jumping time.

I will watch for your reply.

Thank you so much for your reply.
The sound ticking is tic tic the background noise is a parking noise it is not related to car any more. Only that sound tic tic tic tic.

I will try jump start and see if it will help or not despite of the lights is strong.

I will let you know after a while.

Yay,
I have tried jump start it does work.
I think the problem was from battery.
The battery can run lights, alarm and all other things.
But it couldn't start the engine.
Does it make sense?
How come?

Thank you so much friend.

Hi:

It's possible. However, if you turn the headlights on and try to start it, do the turn nearly off? That would indicate a really weak battery.

Here is a link that explains how to load test the battery. See if it helps.

Let me know.
