I am debating about buying the truck listed above for $400.00. It has a lot of aftermarket stuff that I want for a different truck. The guy says it only runs if you pour gas in the carburetor and has sat for 6 years. I think it is fuel pump but I want to make sure just wondering on some advice. I would drain gas tank, new fuel filter, and then a new fuel pump and just want to make sure that is the problem. Please let me know what ya think thanks

Hi Weston,

I would do all you are stating and unhook the fuel lines and spray carb cleaner in them and then blow them out with compressed air. This sounds like it is running on bad fuel IF the pump is working or you are correct the pump is not working. Also, just check the lines themselves and replace any that look rusted or cracked.

Either way, $400.00 but it runs with good fuel in the carburetor. That sounds like a good deal and an issue that is pretty easy to figure out.

Let me know if you need more help after you get it but I suspect you will get it running with this plan.
