Helllo, I have a noise like a tinny rattle just behind the rear off side brake. It only happens when I go over bumps in the road or rough ground. Is there a plate or shield between the brake and the rear axle. The guy I bought the car off told me he'd done the rear pads/shoes before I bought it off him. Is it possible he's loosened something. Maybe he hasnt put all the bolts back in. The plate I refer to has the brake cable runnng through it before it goes to the brake itself. Also is it easy to fix. Hope this info is of help to you. Many thank's
Ray

Hi there,

what you need to do is get under the car and give all the components in that spot a bit of a thump, you should hear or feel something loose, also check suspension mounts and exhaust mounts and that the exhaust is not touching the body anywhere, remember noises travel and you may have to look around a bit to find the exact problem.

Hello Mark, thank's for replying. I've been underneath and it seems to be some sort of dust plate behind the rear brake on the inside of the hub. I banged it a few times and it does rattle a bit. Just wonder if it should be bolted down.
Thanks again
