2001 Mitsubishi Mirage alternator not charging

I just bought a new alternator and a new battery for my car. My mechanic put the test on the battery on it show 12 voltage, he also put the tester on the alternator it show 12voltage. It's not giving a charge but the car will start. Is it the computer in the car.

Start by checking all fuses if they are all ok then the belt that is around the alternator may not be tight enough which would cause the alternator to not hold charge next check the wires at the alternator for open or short circuits or bad ground, as far as the computer its not likely but at last resort it is possible
