How can tailight bulb be working, yet fail to light up when applying brakes?

So are you saying the running light comes on with the headlight?But when you step on the brake the brake light doesnt light up on that same side?Let me know.

My 2003galant also has this problem. When the headlights are on the brake lights don't work. Tu rn off headlights and brake lights work.P what's up with that?
