Oka so I have anxiety issues and I get nervous with the slights noises especially when it comes to my car. I have a 2003 mitsubishi galant and has been very well taken care of but, today while driving I noticed a noise coming from the front end of my car its something like a low squeak something like a bed spring noise. I also have notice a vibration when I hit the brakes and I am stopping what can it be? Is this something I should be concern about? And if so is it expensive to have it fix? Thanks you so much for taking the time to answer my question.

Hello,

The squeaking noise comes from the brake pad, they have a little metal tab that touches the rotors when they are worn.
You get the shakes/vibration possibly for having wrapped rotors.
It sounds like you will need to change the brake pads and the rotors. You might be able to resurface the rotors if they are with in specification.
You want to get this taken care of sooner than later, as overtime the brakes will get worse.

The brake pads and rotors can be replaced by using basic hand tools.

Here is a helpful article:

I have attached the replacement procedure for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
