Transmission does not shift into drive or reverse. There was no noise from the gears before it went out. It started with the cruise control going out. Then it started slipping in second gear. Then it stopped shifiting completely. What do you think needs to be done and how much will it cost?

If your transmission started slipping before then you might be looking at a transmission rebuilt. About the cost, I'm not sure but it would be wise to shop around a little bit and ask some feedback from your mates and always make sure you get warranty on the job done.
