Hi there,

some of these radio have a theft deterrent system that will require you to have the radio re coded by the manufacturer, other will require the radio to sit for a few hours before the code can be re entered, I would check with the dealer first and make sure that you have the correct code as well.

If you disconnect the battery and let it sit for a few hrs, the radio will reset itself. However you will need the 4 digit code that most Mitsu Dealerships will provide to you at no charge (most, not all).

If the display is asking for the code, the 4 digit code must be input as described in your owners manual.

If you do not have the 4 digit code, you will need the serial number of the radio, and supply this to your Mits dealership, who will give you the code. To find the radio serial number, you must remove the panel surrounding it (2 screws at the bottom). The serial will be on a sticker attached to the top left of the radio.

If you tried a wrong code several times, the display will read OFF. To reset, turn key in ignition to ACC for about an hour, then it should go back to asking for the code. Keep a window open in case the car auto locks itself.
