Hi,

Have a 2000 MITSU ECLIPSE that I purchased back in August. Aside from normal wear and tear the car seems to be in excellent shape, except for something in the electrical system. The battery was sluggish to start during cold weather in the past, died, had it jump-started, died again, etc, so I replaced the battery. Everything seemed fine until, lo and behold, it got freezing out once more.

Now when I went out to start my car the battery was drained once more. Not certain what's wrong as I am not a car guy. Just wondering what my best course of action would be.

Thanks,
-TR

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

You should have your vehicle's charging system tested at a local part store. Most stores such as AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts will test your battery and alternator (on or off vehicle) for free of charge. If your alternator is weak or faulty then it will not keep the battery charged, resulting in a drained battery.

Post results of tests and I will follow up.
