BLINKERS DON'T WORK. THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS WORK, ALL BULBS AND FUSES ARE GOOD, THE HEADLIGHTS WORK, ALL TAILIGHTS WORK. COULD THE PROBLEM LIE IN THE STEERING COLUMN, PARTICULARILY WITH THE BLINKER SWITCH? IS THERE ANY SPECIFIC BLINKER FUSE BOX SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN THE FUSE PANEL IN OR OUT OF THE CAR?

I would agree with you that column multifunction switch is probably the problem since you have checked the fuses and bulbs. Unfortuneatly these switches tend to be pretty expensive.
