When we recently purchased the Mini another owner recommended we change the engine oil after 1,000 miles. I would like to know if this is recommended. The car comes with synthetic oil. Manufacturer recommends changing the oil at the sooner of 10,000 miles or 12 months. The car will be driven about 6,000 miles a year and will be mostly local driving. Your input is appreciated.
