2000 Mercury Villager Check Engine Light on

I have a 2000 Villlager with about 125000 miles, and the check engine light came on. What could cause this, I checked the gas cap and it might have been a little loose. It seems to be driving fine, so I don't have a clue as to what is wrong.

There are hundreds of hundreds of things that can cause the check engine light to come on! The best thing to do is take it in and have it scanned, auto zone will do it for free.

Its near impossible to guess what is wrong with your vehicle as you don't list any driveability errors.
