1995 Mercury Villager 6 cyl Automatic 231000 miles

my car starts when it wants. If I start it and shut if off and start it right back again it's fine. If I start if and let it run for a minute and shut it off it won't start back up until the next day

It will crank when it wants too. I can try to crank it and it won't, then I can try to crank it in a day or two and it will crank. Then I turn it off and it won't crank again.

Have the starter checked
also check the small wire at the starter solenoid
test battery and check terminals
