I have a 1996 Merc Sable 3.0 100,000 Miles, Everythng has been good until the other day the power steering quit working with no warning. No noises, the fluid is ok and the belts are good. Is it the pump or could it be something else I am not familiar with rack and pinion steering systems

Any leaks at the rack? If not pump is suspect.
