2002 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Automatic

Map light and lights underneath outside mirrors intermittently are not going off after 25 secs after locking car. They do go off after 10 minutes. Headlights do go off the way they should. It's only the map and outside mirror lights that are having the problem.

Ok whit what you are saying it sounds like either the GEM module is not working right or you have a bad door pin switch. Now does this do this no matter which door you shut last. Meaning if you shut all the doors and the lights go out if you open different door and shut it last do the lights go off like they should? See the GEM controls the lighting and some other stuff and it has the timer for the sentinal lighting too. I also need to know if you have a digital multi meter if so we have a couple of tests to do and determin what is at fault. Get back to me with what you know and we will go from there.
