2002 Mercury Sable Engine

I just bought a car for 5,000, a mercury Sable, 4 door sadan. The mileage scares me. I mean for the year it's a little high. I was wondering if it would be worth it? If the engine does go how much would the repair bill cost?

Hi:
That is actually not too high for the year; however, I understand your concern. That is a lot of money for a vehicle with that many miles. Check kelly blue book (KBB. Com) to see what the vehicle's value is and then you'll be able to make an educated decision. As far as the engine, you'll have well over 3000.00 for a new one. Also, keep in mind, many other things can go bad at that mileage.
