Squeaking noise coming from area where transmission bolts onto engine. Gets quieter when engine gets hot. Sounds something like a   bad water pump sound but is definetly coming from engine/transmission area

Does the "squeaking noise increase/decrease with engine speed? Does it make a difference with trans in drive or neutral? Is the squeak evident going down the road, or only when stopped? Please advise.

Noise is there when in or out of gear. When going down the road, it is not noticable, seems to quiet down when engine rpm increases. Noise is much less after engine/transmision gets hot.

From what you describe, it has all the symptoms of a cracked weld on a heat shield either on the exhaust system or the catalitic converter. Let me know.
