2001 Mercury Sable--Replacing A/C Compressor

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what replacing the A/C Compressor entails and how long it may take to do. Does the engine need to be lifted, etc? Obviously I have no idea how to do this. How many labor hours does this take? Any information would be helpful.

Apparently the bearings locked up in the compressor.

Best left to a qualified technician. Special tools are needed. If you are persistant on doing it yourself check with an auto parts sotre for a manual you WILL need it.
