Brakes problem
2001 Mercury Sable

Our parking brake light is staying on while my husband drives the car. I was told that make the brake fluid is low and wanted to know how I go about changing that myself, and if that's really the problem. An also, if you have time, the back of our car, each time its got two or more people in the backseat, or lots of groceries, the part of the car above the tire will scrape the tops of the tires on every bump or turn. I don't know what to do!

Hello and thanks for donating

if the brake fluid is low then you will just need to add some to the cylinder resevoir under the hood to fill it up, no need to replace it all. Also ensure the park brake is not engaged at all.

As for the rear tires, are they the correct size and correct wheels? If so then the rear suspension is probably worn and needs replacing, more specifically the rear shocks.
