Steering problem
1999 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I read the posted info on the powersteering fluid level dropping while the car was running. I am having the same problem. I have taken the return and pressure hoses off to make sure I have no restrictions in the hoses. I did have to replace the rack because of leaking seals. I dont have a filter on the return line. I am at a loss as what to do next. Could you tell me what the TSB is for bleeding the system?

AS far as bleeding the system, lift the front of the vehicle, fill the resivour with fluid, and turn the steering side to side several times until the level drops. Refill the resivour and continue doing this until no more air is in the system and the resivour stays full.

As far as your problem, is there a leak? Can you see anthing that looks wet?
